Welcome to the website of Pafos United Walking Football.

The group was set up in February/March 2019 by our chairman Malcolm Bushell. Malcolm casually mentioned the idea and it was quickly seized by others delighted to once again play the game.

After a search for a suitable venue the Fairgame centre at Tremathusia was found. The purpose built five a side pitches were ideal. Andreas the owner was extremely supportive so much so that the centre has officially become the home of Pafos United Walking football whilst still available to a mumber of other groups.

The first session attracted 11 players.Word of mouth soon spread and by September 2019 over 70 players had registered.

We believe we are the first walking football group to be set up in the Pafos Cyprus area. The aim is to provde fun, fitness and fun.

Anyone over the age of 50 is welcome to join us at one of our playing days on Tuesdays.Fridays and Wednesday evenings.(details elsewhere on the site).

We have players from 50 to over 80 and all degrees of ability are carered for.We particularly welcome women players and to this aim we have reduced the age for women to 40!

The growth throughout 2019/2020 has been remarkable. We have attracted holiday makers wishing to have a go and have been visited by England International players and manager.

We have had teams from the uk wishing to visit us to play matches and had invites to travel to other countries to play.

We are also active with off field activities. We have an entertainment manager and have been enjoying various events such as picnics.boat trips.ten pin bowling etc.

We have also been active in raising money for charities and to this end held a charity day against local radio station Rock FM

We are pleased to have attracted keen sponsors.((details elsewhete on the site). We look forward to making even further progress throughout 2020.

Enjoy the rest of the website which will be updated regularly to keep everyone up to date with what's going on.

Charlie in UK, after playing with Havant & Waterlooville's "Many Shades of Grey" award winning Walking Football club. Thank you to all players but particularly Stuart Russell (Secretary) and John Morgan (Fixtures & Festivals Secretary) for all welcoming me and letting me join in with you today. It was a great experience and it just shows how many different variations of rules there are to Walking Football. You've given me some ideas to go back to Pafos United with and see if we can implement them to improve our games too. Hopefully one day we will receive a visit from you guys in 2020, lets start that dialogue Stuart?..........Thank you guys for your hospitality, the biscuits in the clubhouse after the matches........Pafos Utd, watch this space everyone.NEW FORUM

As you get older, regular exercise and playing a physical sport such as walking football can help you build and improve your strength, increase your core stability, help you lose or maintain weight and improve muscles. It can sometimes be hard to keep steady on your feet, but this sport can also help to improve your balance.

Meet new people

Meet NEW people with the same outlook on life and likes to get involved in new types of sports, which is not too much of a strain on the body. No-one is immune to loneliness andwhatever your age, you can grow your social circle of friends, rekindle old friendships and thrive in the camaraderie of a team sport.

A path to recovery

It is said that returning to exercise after an illness or injury can be really hard. Walking football is an ideal rehabilitation for those recovering from physical or mental health concerns or issues. Its free of prejudice and full of encouragement.

Challenge yourself in low pressure, highly rewarding environments where enjoyment is the ultimate goal for all involved.  Fortunately, there are many ways to play without needing any footballing experience whatsoever.
